Therapeutic Tarot

Therapeutic Tarot is a creative and collaborative way to explore yourself, support healing, and encourage personal growth. Using tarot and oracle cards, you’ll engage in an interactive experience that helps uncover personal insights, emotions, and inner wisdom.

Therapeutic Tarot works with universal symbols and archetypes that reflect shared human experiences. Sessions may involve choosing cards randomly or intentionally to explore a question, theme, or story. We may also use techniques like visualization, storytelling, creative expression, or movement to deepen your connection to the cards and their meaning in your life.

Unlike traditional tarot readings, Therapeutic Tarot is not about a Reader interpreting the cards for you. Instead, you are the reader. In a Therapeutic Tarot session, you may choose cards randomly or intentionally to explore a question, theme, or story. You explore the meaning of the images through your own thoughts, feelings, and associations, while I guide the process and help you reflect on the story the cards reveal. This approach can bring forward emotions and truths that may be hidden beneath the surface, similar to dream work. Together, we unfold the story the cards reveal, illuminating answers and truths that only you can provide.

What to Expect in the Process of Therapeutic Tarot

The psyche speaks through symbol and metaphor.

No prior experience with tarot is necessary.
You are welcome to bring your favorite cards or choose from my collection.
Therapeutic Tarot sessions are versatile and can be paired with a bodywork or energywork sesson, or as a stand-alone process.

You will begin with setting an intention or identifying a specific issue or question you want to explore, such as emotional challenges, relationship concerns, or personal development goals. I provide guidance through this process if more clarity is needed.
Based on your intention, we collaborate on what card formation to create. For example a single card, a series of cards or a card mandala. You then will select your cards from the deck, either randomly or intentionally according to the intention.
Taking in the imagery, I guide you with reflective questions and somatic inquiry toward your personal meaning of the cards. This process can help bring unconscious feelings to the surface and offer new insights, perspectives and even inspiration.

How to make the most of your session:

Bring a journal to session for taking notes.
Follow your sessions with quiet, screen-free time — take a walk in nature, swim, nap, dance, write or draw. This allows the unconscious process to continue unfolding.
Pay attention to your dreams the week of session, write them down and bring them to your next therapy session.
